The second Bahrain Diabetes and Endocrinology Conference concluded with an emphasis on diabetes being a non-contagious epidemic, with the highest infection rates recorded in Gulf countries. The Head of the Diabetes Department at Salmaniya Medical Complex highlighted that the diabetes rate in Bahrain was 14.6% in 2007, with a continuous increase across the region. The conference, organized by Royal Bahrain Hospital in collaboration with several institutions, covered the latest advancements in diabetes treatment and prevention strategies, with a focus on the importance of collaboration between various sectors to improve healthcare. The conference praised Bahrain's efforts in combating diabetes, stressing the importance of early diagnosis and effective treatment to reduce the complications associated with the disease.
