Bahraini Medical Program Receives Grant for Research Projects
-Sanofi-Aventis announced that five doctors from various Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have been awarded financial grants to support the execution of a range of projects aimed at conducting new research and launching initiatives to combat diabetes across the Gulf region. These grants are part of the Sanofi-Aventis Middle East initiative launched in 2007, with a focus on supporting healthcare professionals in fighting diabetes, improving patient care, and addressing the major health risks associated with the disease in the Arab world. Among the recipients is Dr. Wiam Ibrahim Hussein, an endocrinologist at the Gulf Diabetes Specialist Center in Bahrain, who received a grant to support his project using short message services (SMS) to improve diabetes management.
